Teaching Goals:
The Department of Accounting offers a wide range of courses for students in the acquisition of the accounting knowledge and skills, such as bookkeeping, cashier training, and tax filing, which will equip them with the competencies necessary to meet the requirements in the accounting profession.
Features:
1. The department puts emphasis on both the acquisition of the accounting knowledge and its practical application. Therefore, several licensing courses are provided to prepare the students to obtain the licenses related to accounting affairs, retail services, and computer software applications. Most students successfully obtained at least 7 licenses prior to their graduation from the department.
2. Internships and career exploration trips are organized to enable students to learn from the immersive workplace experience and to explore a wide variety of career possibilities.
3. Students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of campus-wide, regional or national accounting competitions, project and short essay contests, and English competitions, to attain multiple learning effects and further their competitiveness.
4. Students are required to make up teams of tax volunteers for National Taxation Bureau to assist the public in filing income tax reports, to connect content knowledge, practical skills, and work habits to real world situations and issues.
5. The curriculum planning is to equip students with the skills needed to pursue higher education in relevant fields, and to cultivate the transferrable skills required for future jobs.
